(FEP Tubing) Altafluor 200
ALTAFLUOR ® 200 FEP Tubing & Pipe
FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) tubing is an economical choice for tubing applications requiring chemical resistance in combination with broad temperature exposure.
ALTAFLUOR® 200 FEP tubing and pipe offer excellent clarity. This makes them ideal for sight glass and other flow monitoring applications.
Additionally, the outstanding UV transmission rate makes the tubing a clear choice for UV water purification systems in straight lengths. Or, in coiled hose constructions.
ALTAFLUOR® 200 tubing may be used with flare or conventional fittings.
ALTAFLUOR® 200 FEP pipe may be joined using conventional threaded fittings. Or, it may be welded.

FAQs
What is FEP?
FEP refers to fluorinated ethylene propylene, which is a material that is extremely resistant to chemicals, broad temperature exposure and cracking. Often used in the manufacture of tubing and pipes, FEP offers high thermal stability, low permeability, excellent UV transmission and superior insulation properties. For this reason, the material can be used in a number of applications, including chemical processes, laboratory applications, UV water purification systems, food processing, electrical insulation, telecommunications and more. FEP tubing and pipes offer excellent clarity and are often used in sight glass and other flow monitoring applications.
Can FEP tubing be softened by heating?
Yes, FEP tubing can be softened through heating by means of certain processes. The melting temperature of FEP tubing is much lower than PTFE. For this reason, FEP is often used in dual containment tubing. This type of tubing is generally made up of an outer PTFE tube and an inner FEP tube. As heat is applied, the FEP softens and flows over the component, while the PTFE tube shrinks down onto the FEP. Once cooled, the FEP sets and is bonded to the PTFE, forming a moisture-tight capsule. The final product is then formed and can generally withstand working temperatures of up to around 410 °F.
What is Altafluor 200 FEP tubing?
FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) tubing is an ideal choice for tubing applications that require chemical resistance as well as broad temperature exposure. Altafluor 200 FEP tubing has excellent clarity and a very good UV transmission rate, making it an excellent choice for sight glass and other flow monitoring applications, as well as UV water purification systems and coil hose constructions.
What are the features of Altafluor 200 FEP tubing?
