PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) is the tubing of choice for applications involving extreme chemical resistance combined with high temperature exposure.

ALTAFLUOR® 400 PFA tubing and pipe are made exclusively from the highest molecular weight resins available giving them superior physical properties.

ALTAFLUOR® 400 PFA tubing is suitable for even the most demanding applications.

ALTAFLUOR® 400 PFA pipe may be used with conventional threaded fittings or welded.

ALTAFLUOR® 400 is compatible with flare or conventional type fittings.

What does PFA stand for?

PFA stands for perfluoroalkoxy. The material is the tubing of choice for applications that require extreme chemical resistance as well as exposure to very high temperatures. PFA is often used in applications like chemical processes, heat exchangers, laboratory applications, flow and emissions monitoring, food processing, automotive applications, and electrical insulation. The material has an extremely high thermal stability, as well as a low permeability and a moisture absorption of almost zero. Our PFA product, Altafluor 44 PFA tubing and pipe, is made from very high-performance resins that are resistant to stress cracking.

What is PFA plastic?

PFA plastic is a type of fluoropolymer. The material is quite similar to PTFE, although it tends to have better mechanical properties. PFA also has a higher thermal stability than FEP, as well as lower permeability.
